Foil blocking

Foil blocking involves the application of a metallic foil, often gold or silver, to paper. Pigmented foil in a range of colours is also available, as are foils with special optical effects.

A heated die is stamped onto the backing sheet of the foil, making the foil itself adhere to the paper's surface, leaving the metallic or other finish stamped onto it.

Foil stamping can be used to convey a real feeling of quality to your printed item.
